Danya is a nine-year-old girl who has not yet learned to write. She is the exception that does not confirm the rule. On the way to writing she stops, loses pieces, or perhaps the ones she has are not right for her. Step by step, she encounters four friends, each bearing physical, character and behavioural qualities that make them different and unique to Danya’s curious eyes. The first is distinguished by steadfastness and precision, the second by determination and rigour, the third by imagination and desire for discovery, the fourth by a desire to gather and unite. Danya gets to know the four friends. She enjoys trying to be like them in the way they move, speak and relate to themselves, others and the world. She keeps a piece of each of them and, piece by piece, Danya manages to put them together and get back on the path to her ‘point of happiness’.
