Vanessa Goodman respectfully acknowledges living, working and creating in the ancestral and unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples, including the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō, Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) nations. She holds a BFA from Simon Fraser University and is the artistic director of Action at a Distance Dance Society. Vanessa is drawn to art that has weight and meaning beyond the purely aesthetic moment. Her choreographic practice becomes an opportunity to explore the human condition and is largely driven by sound development, using live audio to trigger a generative movement of intimacy. She has received numerous awards and honors, including The Iris Garland Emerging Choreographer Award (2013); Yulanda M. Faris Fellowship (2017/18); The Crystal Dance Prize (2019); The Schultz Endowment of the Banff Center for Arts and Creativity (2019); and the Space to Fail program (2019/20) in New Zealand, Australia and Vancouver.

Caroline Shaw From working with the Los Angeles Philharmonic to producing for Kanye West, musician Caroline Shaw has covered many artistic territories throughout her career. What her creations have in common is a spirit of adventure and an aptitude for experimentation. She received the Pulitzer Prize for Music in 2013, several Grammy awards, an honorary doctorate from Yale and a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship. He has worked with many artists including Rosalía, Renée Flemin and Yo Yo Ma, and has contributed music to films and TV series including Fleishman is in Trouble, Bombshell, Yellowjackets, Maid, Dark and Beyonce's Homecoming.
