UMAK’s starting point is the personal relationship between the artist and her mother. Through movement and bodily gestures, the research draws on memories stored in the body and flesh. The performance is a duo that also features dancer Tamar Razin. During the creative process, the performers paid attention to the nuances and qualities emerging from everyday movements, on the themes of caring and mutual support. The music, composed by Omar Metoui, a Moroccan musicologist from Tangier, also played a key role in shaping the work, tracing the emotional layers of the choreography.
he work was created within the 1I2I3 program for emerging choreographers of the Suzanne Dellal Centre. The program was established with the assistance of the Lottery Council for Culture and Arts.
