Mauro Astolfi

Engaged as a choreographer and teacher on a transversal level, he has built his own style and gestural language that are original and in constant renewal, the result of a personal elaboration of different expressive forms of contemporary movement. After a long stay in the United States, he founded Spellbound Contemporary Ballet in 1994 as a preferential channel for expressing his personal conception of choreographic language, today a point of reference for numerous young emerging authors. He has been working freelance in recent years, creating for other companies in Europe and beyond.

Spellbound Contemporary Ballet is a leading company on the international scene thanks to the combination of Astolfi's personal portfolio, the technical excellence of the dancers, and the design vision strongly linked to an international openness that aims to create a high-profile model focused on project quality and networking. In recent years the Company has presented its works at the Venice Biennale, Schricttmaker Festival, Houston Dance Salad Festival, Bangkok International Dance and Music festival, Seoul Modafee Festival, Sidance Seoul, International Spring Festival in Tel Aviv,Santa Lucia Festival a Monterrey, Madrid en Danza, Valencia Temporada Festival, Prisma International Dance Festival, Vitebsk International Festival of Modern Choreography, Fabbrica Europa, Oriente Occidente, Invito alla Danza, Milano Oltre, Transart, La Merce, Guangdong Dance Festival, Chutzpah Dance Festival, Tokyo Dance New Air, Biarritz Le tempes D’Aimer, City Contemporary Dance Festival, Arcachon Dance Festival, Bangkok Italian Festival, Ankara Music Festival, Tblisi Ballet Festival, Hong Kong City Contemporary Dance Festival, Frei Art Festival, Copenaghen Dance Festival, Dap Festival, Milano Oltre.
