Alessandro Sciarroni is an Italian artist active in the Performing Arts field with several years of training in the field of visual arts and theatrical research behind him. Among the various awards, in 2019 he was awarded the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement for Dance. His work starts from a conceptual approach of Duchampian origin, makes use of a theatrical structure, and can use some techniques and practices deriving from dance, and from other disciplines such as circus and sport. His creations have been presented throughout Europe, North and South America, the Middle East and Asia. Among the main events he took part in the Biennale de la Danse in Lyon, Kunstenfestivaldesarts in Brussels, Impulstanz Festival in Vienna, Festival d'Automne and Festival Séquence Danse del 104 in Paris, Centrale Fies, Abu Dhabi Art Fair, Juli Dans Festival in Amsterdam , Crossing the Line in New York, Hong Kong Art Festival, the TBA Festival in Portland, Festival Panorama Rio de Janeiro, the Venice Biennale (which dedicated a monograph to him in 2017) and presented his work at the Center Pompidou in Paris, The Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, Punta della Dogana-Palazzo Grassi in Venice and the MAXXI Museum in Rome. Alessandro Sciarroni is an associate artist of CENTQUATRE-PARIS and of the Triennale Milano Teatro 2022-2024. His shows are produced by Marche Teatro in collaboration with various national and international co-producers, depending on the projects.
