Op. 22 No. 2 is the title of a short solo choreographed by Alessandro Sciarroni, commissioned and based on an idea by Emanuele Masi for BolzanoDanza, inspired by the symphonic poem by the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius: “The Swan of Tuonela” and based on the Kalevala epic poem from Finnish mythology. The choreographic solo is performed by Marta Ciappina, a dancer with whom Sciarroni has collaborated for several years. “Alessandro writes a female figure decked out in sharp feathers and equipped with filed nails. Yet, hidden by the glimmer of presumed vigor, the eyes appear reduced to a thin slit, the speech limping in the face of death, the skin trembling. Isn’t it me? Former child who ridiculed life by defying events with purple arrows. The writer approaches, understands and is not afraid. Happiness is grasped. Thank you.” Marta Ciappina
