For the second year ORBITA | Spellbound participates in the Special Project for the “Night of Museums in Rome” with a new creative challenge: the performative installation FRAMING REALITY by Jacopo Godani with live music.
The acclaimed artist projects his visionary aesthetic on the Mercati di Traiano complex in Rome. Objects of light ooze among the bricks, barrel vaults and articulated pathways of the ancient Roman Forum, imprisoning the performers’ anatomies in a blurred and dazzling universe, an interstice between dream and reality. Like echoes of a distant era, luminous apparitions light up the evocative Roman architecture accompanied by music by Ulrich Mueller performed live by Sergey Sadovoy. A thin layer of semi-transparent membrane separates viewers and viewed, like the thin skin of a body that at a distance of years bears witness to the splendours of the past in a dynamic flow of present sensations, perceptions and imaginations. A unique, seductive and perturbing event that imprints itself among the vaults and cavities of the archaeological area, insufflating flesh and breaths of memories among its shadowy folds. Framing Reality will be accessible from 10pm to midnight in an ongoing format.
