Following the screening of the short film SARKHA. A Palestinian Video Art Short Film, journalist Lucrezia Ercolani, of Il Manifesto, will be in conversation with director Jumana Dabis and a representative of the Comitato di Quartiere Quarticciolo Ribelle. An event to reflect on the relationship between center and periphery, representation, and practices of cultural resistance, in collaboration with Solidarity in Motion, a network that supports the mobility of artists from conflict areas.
Dance to imagine another Gaza
Palestinian choreographer and dancer Jumana Dabis weaves her practice together with processes of healing, both personal and collective. With the film Sharka she attempted to achieve the impossible: dancing in the Gaza Strip during the genocide. The talk will address her relationship with communities of young Palestinians, how technology has nourished the imagination under conditions of war, and the connections between art and possible forms of resistance.
