At the begin of the work for her new creation, Irene Russolillo will work in the space of the Teatro Biblioteca Quarticciolo, accompanied by the sound research of Edoardo Sansonne/Kawabate on the physical principles that will run through the research process. The focus is on the physical principle of vibration as a tool for improvisation and composition.
Forget Diplomacy is a reflection that takes its starting point from Estonia, a country geographically peripheral to the center of Europe and situated along one of today’s most sensitive borders with Russia. Estonia has already lived through a historical process of emancipation from Soviet rule through the harmonizing of bodies and voices in public space: the so-called “Singing Revolution” testified to the existence of a shared, non-diplomatic language capable of shaping history and generating a new aesthetic of the collective voice. Drawing inspiration from this experience, Forget Diplomacy seeks to initiate a new artistic process that, grounded in the construction of an ethical environment of work and mutual learning, can give rise to a performance as the outcome of a path rooted in shared imagination and co-creation.
